The CopperString 2032 project involves planning, approvals, design and construction of a new 840km high-voltage transmission network in Queensland extending from Townsville in the east to Mount Isa in the west. The transmission line will connect Queensland’s North West Minerals Provine to the national electricity grid. CopperString 2032 is the largest ever economic development project in North Queensland, and the largest expansion to the power grid in Australia.

Our involvement

  • As Approvals Manager for the contractor, we identified and delivered the secondary approvals required for early stages of works
  • Responded to changes in primary approval pathways and construction methodology and advised on impacts to the secondary approvals program
  • Supported the team through the development of the Construction Environmental Management Plan and sub-plans.
