WestConnex Stage 1B: M4 East

Project overview

The first underground component of the WestConnex works, the M4 East package delivered twin 5.5 km three lane tunnels between Homebush and Haberfield and included major interchanges at Homebush Bay Drive, Concord Road, Wattle Street (City West Link) and Parramatta Road. The Project bypassed the Paramatta Road bottleneck, tying in with the M4 West Widening and M4-M5 Link (Stage 3).

Our involvement

• Approvals and Community Manager (2018-2019): Managing a team of approvals and community relations professionals on the WestConnex M4 East project which developed and implemented effective community engagement strategies and the approval of deliverables required by the planning approval.
• Senior Approvals Coordinator (2015-2018): Managing the approval of deliverables required by the planning approval, including the Construction Environmental Management Plan and sub-plans, Operational Environmental Management Plan and Urban Design and Landscape Plan, leveraging strong relationships with regulatory bodies including the Department of Planning and Environment and Environment Protection Authority.
